New barrier on the TPT and it's a very big improvement over what was there before. It's quite easy to slalom through and it's sole purpose seems to be to slow people down before they cross the road.

Not the main entrance to National Trust's Belton House, but you can get in here between 9:30 and 4pm - strictly as the gate is automatically controlled.
As part of the Hook Road/Tolworth Healthy Streets proposals, Tolworth Road is now closed to through cars & vans at its junction with Red Lion Road. Plenty of space for people on bikes and walking to pass through though! 👍🚶♀️🚲 … [more]
Barriers at the railway underpass on Coldhams Common. Gate, passable width: 78cm. Cattle Grid width: 125cm.
Entrance to the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Paris - cyclists should dismount, but really the park could easily be opened up for considerate cycling.
“There have been posts here for probably 600 years.” Low Traffic Neighbourhood, York. https://t.co/nlDf2kXBNf
It's been a good morning @DevonCC ! Thank you for giving the bus shelter a diet on the Topsham Road so people walking, cycling and alighting from the bus can all see each other safely. It's taken a while to do this (5yrs?)... but this is … [more]
[UPDATE March 2023: These barriers removed: #192333] [UPDATE: #179512] [Image taken 5.5.21] The Knavesmire, the racecourse, York. This was a pair of staggered barriers. One has been removed. You can see the dark square of tarmac where one … [more]
Very tight chicane by a walkway between buildings - a necessary measure with these desire and sight lines.
Really pleased to have influenced the reinstatement of these bollards after their temporary removal. Got them put back with a 1.5m gap either side of the central bollard, rather than 4 separate 1m gaps that were there before 😊 … [more]

The chicane has been lengthened making it much more pleasant for cycling 🤗 because it does not require a sharp turn. I suppose it also easier for motorcycles too 🤭. This is a great improvement over previously, see #49119.

Planters, funded under the first EATF scheme, have replaced the old inaccessible barriers here. A new surface has also been laid where necessary. The result is that you can cycle straight through here without delay, as can disabled … [more]
This flyer from Petersfield Labour (probably around 2012) gives the history of the closure to through traffic.
1980s LTN facilitated by this simple gate. This is widely supported and there is no movement to remove these. Would be good to replace this with a more accessible bollard.

Northern side of Cutter Ferry Bridge over the River Cam. It is good to see that there is no bollard in the middle of the path. In the past there was a single bollard in the middle. Since the ramp is less than 3m wide this meant the gaps … [more]
On this busy cycleway a single cattle grid for cyclists is not enough, so two have been installed, one for each direction. The third cattle grid on the right is for wheelchair users (and requires two right-angle turns, presumably to … [more]
Great to see some bollards go in to prevent pavement parking on West St @TowerHamletsNow . I wonder how much installation of each bollard costs to stop drivists... https://t.co/6ROCy2c3Bj
Local Highways Improvement completed (Jan 13, 2020): removal of exclusionary chicane barriers and replacement with safe, rubberised bollard. Ed: Related tweet: https://twitter.com/StephenEglen/status/1217094355841884161?s=20 Previously … [more]
A big improvement on the old crossing, which required you to lift the bike over. These gates appear to be controlled by magnetic lock (I didn't look closely but there's an odd lump on the side of each one).
The old road under the old railway bridge has been closed to motor vehicles, but remains open to cycling and walking into the Kinneil Estate.
The chicanes here are to dissuade cyclists from the steep bank just after, and that is probably a good thing and anyway there is quite a good nearby alternative just a little further.
Old Leicester and Swannington railway line, now a cycleway. Access barriers designed to allow for horses and cycles to pass.

Well-placed bollard at the end of the new connection to Red Cross Lane. Strange & unnecessary but harmless give way markings, I suppose.
Low white concrete bollards allow cyclists to pass while preventing motor vehicles crossing the bridge. A far superior solution than the kissing gate at the other end of the bridge
Previously locked central gate removed, removing need for cyclists to open sprung side gate. Planter boxes obstruct central gate enough to prevent motor vehicle access, but not enough to stop footway parking alongside. See also #85471.
Posts with reflective strips prevent motor vehicle access to Woolston Park while presenting no obstacle for cyclists.
Gate prevents motor vehicle access to Green Lane - and there is a nice wide gap for cyclists to ride past.
Choice of by-way or bridleway. We chose the bridleway. It looks well-cared-for here, and the sign asks you to kindly close the gate.
At last, Tesco have discovered it is possible to drive an extra 10m up the road to avoid blocking the cycle lane on East Road
Generous chicanes at crossing of minor road just right to slow cyclists where the walls make blind corners.
Recently added self shutting gate at Romsey Rec - a good idea for slowing down bikes onto this park at a blind corner. It is probably a bit of a pain for wheelchair / mobility scooters when approaching from the side where the gate opens … [more]
Bicycle permeable barriers at this end of the Middlewood Way. I think the bit on the right is for horses to step over.
Barriers removed along cycle route from Springfield Green to Chelmsford city centre. Now two simple bollards mark the point. Other barriers along the route have also been removed as have barriers on other routes, thanks to a concerted … [more]
