The Levern Walkway heads straight on, despite the change in surface. This is where I look a wrong turn the first time I was here.
More variations in surface on the Levern Walkway, some better than others. Alongside the Barrhead Community Garden.
The poorly surfaced path from Whitriggs Road leads to the museum centre car park in Woodhead Road. It appears to be signed as a public path, but do the gates get locked at night?
The Forth & Clyde Canal towpath approaching Firhill Road bridge. This section has yet to be resurfaced. The section under the bridge is cobbled.
The resurfaced section of the canal towpath between Applecross Street and the Claypits bridge only starts at the end of the cobbles.
The canal towpath is now closed for resurfacing. Work can be seen going on in the distance. However, the only information for the diversion route is on the notice at the closure. The route itself, which is via the parallel main road, is not … [more]
Poor surface on towpath beyond Ruchill Street. [I have since learnt that this path is being upgraded shortly, see https://www.scottishcanals.co.uk/news/forth-clyde-canal-towpath-upgrade/ ]
A very poorly maintained raised junction at the intersection of Bank Street and Glasgow Street. The paving blocks are very uneven and awkward to ride over.
The burst water main in #189435 has been repaired and the road patched, but the pothole has been left untouched!
A pothole full of water, and water rising through the footway surface. The sign says "Due to burst water main please do not park", but was ignored by one private plates driver. (The pipes belong to a team of window cleaners.)
Was I imagining that this road got resurfaced last year? A very poor surface on a road that supposedly is the flagship Colleges Cycle Route. See #186854.
Was I imagining that this road got resurfaced last year? The sign for the junction ahead should show a crossroads, not just a junction on one side.
No surface improvement to the canal towpath at Firhill Road. The improvement stops at the Ruchill Street bridge.
The West Highland Way at steps to Milngavie community centre and library. The path is a bit muddy here.
Unsealed path on northern arm of Craigdhu Wedge, muddy in places. A piece of wooden edging has become exposed in the middle of the path, presenting a hazard to cyclists.
The path from the Forth & Clyde Canal footbridge at Old Farm Road over to Netherton Road is in a very poor condition (still). What doesn't show up in the photograph is the step between the asphalt surface and the washed-out unsealed path.
I'm still none the wiser as to why the path going around the outside of the fenced playpark has been surfaced with pebbles in a plastic mesh (see #175035). This is not easy to cycle on.
Dalsholm Bridge has had its deck surface replaced by slippery, lumpy cobble stones, and if you fall off spiky railings have been fitted to the bridge's parapets.
The irregular surface remains untouched, despite work going on in the park for around two years now. See also #46958.
No attempt has been made by the housing developer to integrate the existing paths into the new road layout, let alone upgrade them. The path on the left connects Daldowie Road with Caledonia Road at the bus terminus.
The Drumchapel Way path is becoming increasingly blocked by overgrowing bushes, in addition to the surface deteriorating.
Newly rebuilt path associated with the Scottish Water works. The gravel surface on the path bypassing the children's playground is held in place with a plastic mesh.
Newly rebuilt paths associated with the Scottish Water works. The paths change from asphalt to gravel.

The dropped kerb at the end of Ferry Road is now clear from obstructions (see #173875), but the footway surface is still incomplete.
Work on the path through Yorkhill Park appears to be incomplete. While work on the wall appears to have been completed to a high standard, the path is missing its top surface, and the lighting columns have been placed within the width of … [more]
The toucan crossing across Castlebank Street at the Glasgow Harbour development is missing its red man and green cycle lights. The road surface is also badly worn.
The shared footway in Bunhouse Road has been covered in beige surfacing, except for a gap just beyond the crossing. The main pedestrian egress from the car park comes up the ramp on the left.
Still finishing work to be done on the rebuilt Bunhouse Road shared foootway, and the cycle route sign is pointing the wrong way, and least for Loch Lomond.
A new cycle access point to the NCN7 path at the Beith Street/Rosevale Street roundabout, but nothing done to rectify the adjacent tree root damage.
Tree root damage left unattended to when work has been done to install a new access point at the roundabout.
Tree root damage to the NCN7 path that has been left unattended to for so long that the actual root is now exposed. See also #99471.
The path around the back of the pitches at Whitecrook Park is not surfaced, but leads to an entrance on North Elgin Street.
A new steps and ramp access to the canal towpath is being built at the Centre81 community centre in Whitecrook. The towpath here has been resurfaced over a short distance.
The path on the north side of the Forth & Clyde Canal at Linnvale has a loose gravel surface, while the direct route to Strauss Avenue is just a grass path.
A path connecting Bearsden and Drumchapel has been kept open during the long-term water works in the area. However, the surface is not good for cycling on, and the other path nearby, from the western end of Annan Drive, would probably be a … [more]

The footway is meant to be shared-use, but is not signed as such, and is covered in debris from the disintegrating road surface. This provides a cycle route between the Clyde Tunnel and some entrances to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
The riverside path in Renfrew, alongside the River Cart. The concrete panels give way to asphalt for the rest of the path's length to Inchinnan Road.
The surface of the riverside path changes from asphalt to concrete panels. One or two of them are slightly out of alignment here and there, although not a serious problem.
A section of tree root damage on the riverside path, next to the golf course. There was another smaller area of tree root damage over next to the River Cart.
A new section of cycleway has appeared on Craighall Road and the correct Cycleway tactile slabs have been used. I'm going to have to have another look at that central dividing strip though. The surface has been left incomplete.
A short diversion around some ongoing work, but the uneven surface and narrow width make it rather awkward to negotiate.
The Garscadden Way and path to the Drumchapel Way is presently blocked by Scottish Water works, but the path to Annan Drive has been kept open. Conon Avenue has now reopened.
A poor surface on the path the Glasgow to Cumbernauld cycle route is signed along in Glenconner Park. With a little bit of work it could even be quite nice, although the person cycling along the footway of Royston Road in the background … [more]
The resurfaced section of the Forth & Clyde Canal towpath will tie into the work at Stockingfield Junction, where a bridge is being built across the canal.
Although the main towpath has been resurfaced, nothing has been done about the poor connection from the towpath to the path to Vaila Street. In addition to local access, this is important for making connections between the canal and … [more]

The path from Shields Road and Scotland Street runs alongside the northernmost section of Shields Road before rejoining the road. The asphalt strip gets progressively narrower, forcing everyone onto the cobbles.
The section of cycle track on the traffic island between Pollokshaws Road and Cathcart Road has been marked with red surface, unlike anything else in the South City Way to date. Work continues.

The lack of sweeping on the canal path means the LED catseyes are starting to disappear into the extended verge.
Grit from disintegrating road surface covering cycle lane. But makes seeing several sets of bike tyre tracks easier.
Deteriorating road surface beyond the mini-roundabout on Alderman Road. The cycle lane appears to be in the poorest of condition compared to the surrounding road surface.
Deteriorating road surface on much of the Alderman Road cycle lanes. The opportunity could be used to swap the parking and cycle lanes about, which would result in less wear and tear on the cycle lane in future.
The southern end of the Garscube Road cycle track still hasn't been completed, but is at least now rideable. Top surface is all that is required. Further north, the path is complete up until Sawmillfield Street, with work in progress at the … [more]
