Painted lane across wide, busy car park entrance/exit. Beyond it, the shared path section goes to a toucan crossing towards Custom House Way and link to coastal path.
Shared path section on Container Way. Pavement narrows and has these unusual skinny chicane barriers (thankfully with a decent gap between them). There seems to be space on Tesco's grass verge to possibly widen pavement.
Painted 2-way lanes on pavement go across car park exit road (which is 1-way). Green surface stops shortly after and then lane markings end at corner.
View to corner of Laird St where cycleway turns at pavement build-out (on former parking lane). Green surface stops for a short stretch.
End of kerb segregated section of Greenock town centre to Battery Park cycleway. Seems temporary kerb was deliberately angled rather than being hit by motor vehicles. Inverclyde Council voted to upgrade and make this pop-up route permanent … [more]
Loose drain cover on edge of shared path where route goes back to on-road 2-way lanes. Painted lanes across Haig St junction then more temporary kerb segregation on Dalrymple St (A770).
Painted lanes across wide mouth of side road (Crawfurd St/Hood St). Next section of route is shared path on pavement.
Grey Place (A770) looking towards pedestrian crossing. Traffic light has bike light attached. Cycleway has green surface from this point to Laird St, Greenock. Next section is paint only without any segregation for people cycling … [more]
Looking towards the Brougham St–Patrick St junction. A temporary kerb is angled across the cycleway at the junction. Apparently it means you've to dismount and use the pedestrian crossing but wasn't clear at the time. A dedicated cycle … [more]
Ramped bus stop boarder on the 2-way Greenock town centre to Battery Park cycleway. Seem slightly narrower than those on Glasgow's Spaces for People routes (like #171564).
Painted 2-way bike lanes on pavement become protected cycleway on road – Brougham St, Greenock (A770/NCN75). Part of temporary Spaces for People cycle route to Battery Park, installed in 2021. Inverclyde Council voted to keep and upgrade … [more]
The South City Way cycleway now complete on Victoria Bridge. This is where it ends for now, until the section into the Merchant City via Bridgegate is built.
@UrbanistTOC @FrisealMacRab @MyGlasgowCC @digmundfreud @GlasgowCC Hi @MyGlasgowCC Can you tell us how we get the cycleway on Govan Road cleared of wet slippery leaves? Is there actually a reporting mechanism which will elicit action? … [more]
A temporary closure of NCN75 Clyde Walkway starts tomorrow, for 7 months, as far as the Smart Bridge. Yet again, the steep ramp at the Rutherglen Bridge access point here (see #98398 and #71262), will be showing how useful replacing it … [more]
A sign advising of the diversions for NCN routes 7, 75 and 756, facing people heading away from the diversions.
Anybody spot the issue here? 👀 The diversion for cycling during #COP26 is a mess. It’s inaccessible. It’s not signed correctly. It’s not a route that people want that makes them feel safe. https://t.co/6bNuDzihB0
The cycle off-slip at Finnieston Street allows cyclists to legally leave the carriageway and use the toucan crossing across Lancefield Quay to get to the National Cycle Network route 75, even when the traffic signals are on red. The similar … [more]
The one remaining cycle off-slip at the Finnieston Street/Clyde Arc junction. The one at #173654 has been blocked off with a railing.
NCN75 at Bargeddie a bit safer to navigate after we cleared overhanging bushes and litter picked on Sunday. @IanArms20264931 @srob1991 #NCN75 https://t.co/lFVc9MQKb8
The council has fenced off the former cycle off-slip from the Clyde Arc bridge at the NCN75 toucan crossing. This helped those making right turns by allowing cyclists to leave the carriageway and make the turn with the assistance of the … [more]
The lack of a connection from James Watt Street to the riverside NCN75 path and the Tradeston Bridge (visible background left) continues to make this a difficult place to cycle. A gap through the kerb and railing on the far side of the … [more]
Although not itself part of the National Cycle Network, Sustrans has provided "This way to" stickers for NCN routes 7 and 75 for this section of signed cycle route which meets up with the NCN routes in Cessnock. This section is part of a … [more]
The sign permitting cycling in the Fastlink busway has gone, and there is a sign directing cyclists to the shared path along the riverside. However, the crudely altered "Bus and cycle only" road markings remain.
Corkerhill Road, with a cycle lane for northbound cyclists, and a toucan crossing for those going via Pollok Park (following NCN7 and NCN75). Protection of the cycle lane by means of armadillos starts after the bus stop.
Linthaugh Terrace meets Corkerhill Road, where NCN7 and NCN75 cross over to the footway on the far side of the dual carriageway. If not going via Pollok Park, northbound cyclists should stay on this side where there is a (now protected) … [more]
NCN7 and NCN75 on Linthaugh Road. This residential dual carriageway is traffic calmed with chicanes, but otherwise has nothing to make cycling safer.
Signage for NCN7 and NCN75 at the junction of Linthaugh Terrace and Linthaugh Road. The 'No Through Road' signs (backs to camera) don't exempt cycling.
Is it a mandatory cycle lane? If so, why is it marked as a straight on and left turn lane? The protection has ended. NCN75 is on the shared footway alongside.
That moment when you stop to take a photo and there's a cyclist approaching on the narrow shared footway and a bus approaching on the adjacent busway, before there's time to get the camera ready. All I could do was to move into the side.

A pop-up two-way cycle lane has been provided on Dumbreck Road, between the Pollok Park entrance and the motorway junction, due to the inadequate shared footway. The bus stop has been closed, and not provided with a bus boarder.
The bus stop on Lancefield Quay, at the popup cycle lane, is still in use so there is a gap in the cones, and as soon as I turned around to take a picture of the end of the popup cycle lane, someone was trying to park a car there, in the … [more]
Although the popup cycle lane has been marked for westbound use only, there is quite a bit of use eastbound, particularly here where the parallel NCN75 Clyde Walkway has been shut due to a building fire.
The popup cycle lane at Lancefield Quay has "No Entry" markings on it, but the parallel NCN75 Clyde Walkway (visible to the right) is closed due to a building fire.
The council has stated that the popup cycle lane is for westbound use only, but this section in particular at Lancefield Quay is seeing significant wrong direction use, since the only other alternative to the closed Clyde Walkway is to … [more]
The recommencement of the popup cycle lane at Lancefield Quay, where the parallel NCN75 riverside cycle path is shut due to a building fire.
The popup cycle lane recommences in Broomielaw, after George V Bridge, while NCN75 U-turns down a ramp onto the riverside path. The footway along this section ahead is no longer shared-use, but still sees people cycling along it, even with … [more]
The plastic ramp hasn't stayed in place, but the sandbags are better than nothing for bumping down the kerb. An asphalt ramp added on top of the road surface would be better. [Sorted in update at #144431]
Start of temporary cycle lane on Clyde Street. People joining from either the carriageway through the cones, or from the ramp from the shared footway.
Unfortunate that part of the Clyde Walkway is still closed after fire last year. Mind you, it was narrowest bit (between Kingston bridge and Squinty bridge). At least the road is quieter now and easier for distancing. Still not sure what … [more]
A minimalist crossing put in for the Cardonald Quietway. Basically a patch of asphalt on the central reservation. Slightly diagonal too.
Signage for the Cardonald Quietway on the right-hand side of Linthaugh Road, but not very easy to read from the left-hand carriageway (which, since the footway is not shared-use, is where approaching cyclists should be). Quite frankly, the … [more]
Routes NCN7 and NCN75 have been restored to the direct route at Hawkhead Hospital after a diversion lasting several years.
An awkward piece of path at the entrance to the park at the end of Ben Nevis Road. The combination of vertical and horizontal alignment, and the normally closed gate, make this tricky to cycle. It also doesn't seem to be easy for van … [more]
A gate on NCN7 near the park at the end of Ben Nevis Road. Sometimes it is open, sometimes it is shut.
A poor transition between one section of riverside path and another, which could be made much smoother to allow users to concentrate on not hitting the posts instead.
Signs at the point where the main path goes beneath the Crookston Road bridge, including a sign for the alternative route in case of flooding on the main path.
The cycle route towards Paisley passing under Crookston Road, and following the White Cart. The ramp up to Crookston Road (at #112178) can be seen to the left.
Pavement parking just after NCN7 and NCN75 turn into Rosshall Park. This is right next to a car park!
A complete lack of signage, save for some dilapidated Sustrans stickers, at the left turn into Rosshall Park.
They've finally removed one of the worst barriers on the NCN into Ross Hall Park. Could barely get a regular bike through it let alone in anything slightly bigger before. #spaceforcycling #accessibility https://t.co/4RsK7C80uN [See #93815 … [more]
NCN75 goes right through Gourock station, but it doesn't look like anyone is getting in this gate today. A path to the left is really what is needed, allowing access past the station to reach #91054 without dismounting.
NCN75 runs along the footway of Lower Kempock Street, passing a car park exit and a bus stop layby along the way.
A choice of shared-use steps or shared-use pathway on the seafront at Gourock, plus some cycle parking.
Signs for the Clyde Coastal Path, but not NCN75, outside the entrance to Gourock station. Only some of the poles have a blue stripe on them.
It is days like today that highlight how car centric Glasgow is. Almost 50% of Glaswegians don't have access to a private car. While the roads were ice free, the paths were like ice rinks. #activetravel #travelpoverty … [more]
The M8 cyclepath crossing NCN75 and the A752 at grade. Signage this way for NCN75 but not straight ahead to Glasgow.
The M8 cyclepath crosses the busy A752 road and A8 sliproad at grade. Why only a flyover for motorists? And no directions facing this way for NCN75 other than a Sustrans sticker.
Brand Street approaching the turn into Harvie Street. But how is anyone meant to know to turn onto the shared footway rather than the carriageway at the junction?
Now that NCN7 has been moved onto the footway at Harvie Street there is a new blind corner problem. Also, why is there a priority crossing at Govan Road and no priority for crossing Brand Street?
The parallel cycle and zebra crossing has now been finished. Go left to turn right. It's also not clear what is and what is not shared use footway.
