Cambridgeshire County Council Highways & Transport Committee debate proposal to reinstate Mill Road bus gate. Blue badge holders and taxis would be allowed to use it. The proposal was approved 8-7.

The concrete barriers have been replaced by nice planters, but the sign still calls this an experimental closure.

The Maryhill Road crossing on North Woodside Road has now been completed. Corduroy tactile paving has again been used erroneously in place of the wider gap Cycleway type. Left and right turns have been banned with the Ahead Only sign.

Filtered permeability for pedestrians only, with barriers and a lack of a conveniently sited dropped kerb on the other side impeding cycling. Not a major desire line, but I came this way due to roadworks on the main road.

I'm not sure why you'd place a modal filter so close to a speed hump, but anyway, it's now been made permanent.

The modal filter on Luard Road is still marked as experimental although the scheme has been made permanent (also the one on Bateman St).

The new bus gate on Scotland Road is welcome - shame about the priority on the exit.

An improvement on #89968 at the end of Anderson Street. A dropped kerb has also been provided to access the road directly. There is a toucan crossing just off to the right as well.

Surrey Street has had a cycle connection to Pollokshaws Road ever since this end of the street was closed to motor traffic as part of the Route Action Plan programme, but it is not clear how one is to join the South City Way cycle tracks.

The Nicholson Street cycle track exists to provide a safe link between Norfolk Court and the South Portland Street Suspension Bridge, but is being abused by motorists. It has lost its signs and the markings are somewhat faded.

Dead end signs now in place at experimental modal filters. Just missing an 'Except Cycles' sign although the cycling direction sign is almost as good.

The green sign does give a positive 'Road Open' message.

If you want to close a road except to cyclists, it seems rather counter-intuitive to put the concrete blocks right in the cycle lane. Maybe the permanent fixtures will give a clearer message.

Here we go again... the point of the modal filter is that Bateman St is not closed, it is very much open except at one point to motor vehicles - but Cambridgeshire's highways department can't be expected to grasp that.
