This driver passed by me a bit too close, but also well above the speed limit. Not just over, but well above.
The distance was ascertained from satellite images of road markings here. A generous look at the time taken to pass those markings gives a speed of 65mph in a 50 limit (where the police would prosecute at over 57mph). On top of this through some of the time measurement the brakes are clearly on, so that speed is as they slow down indicating a much higher speed before.
The newer limit here has been set to stop this kind of behaviour.
