Not a massive issue but one that needs some note. The "nice" route for people riding is longer and takes longer without any delays. If it's to appear benefical to riders, delays like this need sorting out. Otherwise, riders will stick to the road route, which seems to cause complaint from all angles, including those wanting to drive.
I think the real irritant with this was that it was queuing traffic crossing for all that time. All they were doing was getting to the next jam. So, stopping traffic earlier wouldn't have made any difference to the amount of time it took them to travel down Fen Causeway. And this is often the case with this road, I use it in a car as well.
