[Image taken 14.5.23] New Lane direction of Malton Road, Huntington / York. Clutter. Too many signs when road users need to understand what is happening, what to expect, what is expected of them and to be able to concentrate on what is happening. Cycle streets shows the path on the right beyond the turning with the green/white/yellow sign as an offroad shared route but there's no visible sign here where the person on a cycle would need to start moving across the carriageway(s) to reach it. The sign is closer to the junction (see: #193946). Plus the path is very narrow - there's not enough room for a pedestrian and cyclist to pass each other. (Or for two wheelchair/mobility scooter users to pass each other.) Other image today and links: #193937.
