[Image taken 6.5.23] Northern Rail train, York rail station, York. NOTE: No street view at this location] There are usually two toilets on Northern services. One is often out of use. (Note the line through the WC showing this one was not working.) There is no room for a wheelchair, wheeled walker or someone using crutches to move along the carriages. Even if the toilet is in operation there is often/usually no water for hand washing. Yet there is often soap so you learn to check there is water before activating the soap dispenser. If there is a problem, the dark blue sign gives the carriage number. It tells customers they can tweet or go to a form on a website to report issues. I can't do the first and don't have net access on the move. A number to text would be practical and logical. By contrast there is a number to text immediately below on the light blue sign. How many people have texted details of a problem with an onboard loo to the British Transport Police? A travelling companion once stopped me from doing that.
