[Image taken 13.2.23] Waitrose, Foss Islands Road, York. The problem is that the gap between the racks and the white line of bay 3 of the 'car park collect service' looks like a car parking space. And, as the person who was parked in it when I arrived, said not only that but there’s no sign(s) and/or no tarmac marking(s) to say ‘Cycles only’ or ‘No parking’. The driver was apologetic. Said she understood. Said she sees people on ‘York’ cycles – larger rigs for mobility or utility purposes, etc, when when is moving around the city. She said she’d never park in this space again. But without intervention from Waitrose other people may/will. It needs signage and/or tarmac markings – perhaps a painted message on the tarmac at right angles to the racks and filling the space up to the solid white line of the parking space to the right: “CYCLES ONLY”.
