[Image taken 10.12.22] Co-op, 143-145 Tang Hall Lane, York. Context and links: #188684. The minimum recommended distance between uprights (and therefore also any vertical structure to the side of cycle parking) is 100cm. The recommended distance is 120cm. I think there's a case for 150cm especially at the ends of racks. Compare the space available here with the dimensions of this 'York' cycle (rig set up for utility or - as in this case - child carrying) at the library today: #188688.
