[Image taken 10.12.22] Co-op, 143-145 Tang Hall Lane, York. There are several good things about the cycle parking provision at this branch of Co-op (www.coop.co.uk/store-finder/YO10-3SD/143-145-tang-hall-lane). 1. There is cycle parking. (Compare with the nearby images: #188689, #188690, #188691, #188692.) 2. It is right next to the entrance – so, it’s easy to find. 3 It’s next to the trolley park. So no leaving bags (children?) on your cycle unattended while you find a trolley before you shop, or after. But it could be improved. It frustrates me that in York where ¼ of residents, according to the 2011 census, do not have access to a motor vehicle, that was (at least historically) known as a cycling city, in 2022, at a branch of a chain that claims to be ‘local’ and in a parade of shops, the provision is not practical for many users and does not meet standards.
