[Image taken 10.12.22] Foss Islands Path, York. [NOTE: Location on street view approximate.] I asked this cyclist if he’d mind my taking an image as he rode through the route 'closed' signs. Instead he stopped so I could get a better picture and threw up his hands in mock dramatic frustration. He explained he went to Germany to cycle the Danube for a holiday this year. He was amazed by the quality of the route and came back “radicalised”. He took a York Cycle Campaign card from me... When we were returning (17.00 on Friday) in contrast to our outward journey when we 'believed' the signs - that the route was closed, we concluded it was open, likely out of working hours, so we continued through the fencing which seemed to have been moved aside.
