[Image taken 14.7.22] B&Q, Rawcliffe, York. A second trailer user has found the cycle parking here today. But, people are finding it by chance. This person said previously he'd ridden to the back of the store and put his rig there. He'd found this while riding past. Closeup of this cycle: #184754. The space between the Sheffields (the bar design cycle parking) and the bollards (with reflective detail) mean there is ample room for longer designs and they and the person are protected when loading/manoeuvring. Further, most of this trailer and the one in #184752 is under cover. A further positive of good cycle parking (or stellar provision as here) is that it showcases the cycle designs available. You can also ask the owner about it without any sales puff. Cycle parking is so much more than bent metal... And the importance of cycle parking goes well beyond, 'Somewhere to put a bike'. Both the cycles in the rack are e-cycles. For utility and school-run trips, e-cycles are overtaking non-e designs. How long till outlets start providing e-charging for cycles? I asked for this in my response to the consultation on the parallel premises to this: Planning application reference 22_00689_FUL Go Outdoors (a former Argos). Other images, different topic, today: #184755, #184756.
