[UPDATE: #187630] [Image taken 21.6.22] Motor traffic-free link route between Foss Islands Road and James Street, York. (Looking towards FIR.) The encroaching vehicle and the uncut foliage reduce the width of this very well used route to just 170cm. As this is a touring route (NCN658) and goes to/from and passes many retail options, not to mention the recycling centre (see: #170920), many people are riding laden cycles or wider adapted or bespoke machines (see: #180470) including for child carrying (eg: #183400), or with attachments for carrying loads (see: #179009). Other users are pedestrians with buggies, and/or shopping, and/or dependants, or people moving sociably. The accessible terrain and retail outlets, with car parking on the doorstep mean it’s popular with people with mobility issues too. But the surface and the sight lines are compromised. Other images this issue today: #183672, #183673. Other images today and links: #183665.
