[No change a month on: #183854.] [Image taken 7.6.22] Lidl, James Street, York. [NOTE: No streetview at this location.] The cycle parking at this Lidl is undercover and access is unobstructed see: #174000. But this person told me she doesn’t use it in her mobility scooter because she blocks access for people on cycles. So she uses this disabled parking bay if it’s free. But it’s not sheltered so in bad weather the padding on her seat gets wet while she is shopping. Worse is – for any user of this space – the trolleys of merchandise block the access to/from the shop entrance. The bollards should filter movements. ‘People’, eg those with a disability using the dedicated parking spaces, should be able to pass between the bollards, but not motor vehicles. By blocking access to everyone the shortest and safest route is not possible. The convenience of the disabled parking space (and the point of providing them and people using them) is lost. Any user has to walk in the car park either around the trolleys or around any user in the bay to the left. Other images today and links: #183399.
