It strikes me this issue is like the school run conundrum: you want to keep your kids safe so you take and collect them by car. Thereby making the spaces less safe, more polluted, more unattractive to walk, cycle or scoot to/from/in. For everyone. Thus increasing the likelihood of increasing numbers of others resorting to this behaviour and those who can't or won't avoiding the location which leads to physical health issues and mental health issues such as isolation.
