[Update: The layout of the works continues to change. Newer image: #180467.] Image taken 13.3.22] Bootham, York. After a windy weekend the barriers (presumably a health and safety requirement) are horizontal on the road and on the pavement. Yet these works are for a toucan crossing. A measure that is part of the Scarborough Bridge to Bootham Park cycle route improvements scheme. And on a route that is due to have segregated cycle lanes installed along it... to create a 'safe' environment intended to encourage people to leave their cars at the Park and Ride and cycle into the city: A19 cycling improvements (www.york.gov.uk/news/article/901/plans-shared-for-transformation-of-york-active-travel-routes).
