[Image from 28.12.22 shows the problem of water collecting here has not been resolved: #188968.][Image taken 21.5.21] Marygate carpark, York. On the hoardings is the explanation for their presence (see: #169468). But who will see it? More worryingly is that this is not a good place to encourage people to stop and look at something, and turn their backs towards the steep slope to/from Scarborough Bridge. I only saw the signs because I went looking for them. (To get to/from Scarborough Bridge I use the less steep slope behind the camera. Since the width of this route was reduced I go through/round the car park to avoid adding to the crush/putting myself at risk.) The person behind me said he had come from Marygate. He too went round the car park. He used the slope from this side but did not see the sign: he was focused on getting round the corner and up the slope. See also: #169467 and links.
