[Image taken 12.5.21] Marygate car park, York. This is the steeper of two slopes to/from Scarborough Bridge. It is used by everyone – despite the cycle signage. It is the first slope you reach on the shared route from Bootham Terrace/St Mary’s etc, it is much shorter than the ‘switchback’ alternative...Yet it is just 299cm wide… And 20cm of this is the pole in the centre, the presence of which further reduces the usable width.
