[Image taken 6.5.21] Marygate car park, York. View from the riverside end - just reopened in its new width format - of the route through Marygate car park. The red block shows where the steep slope to/from Scarborough Bridge intersects with the cycle-ped-wheelchair route and that the width remains uniform at that point (see: #168583). At present, at least, it is still possible for people wanting to avoid the congestion and possible conflict, and who do not to want to exacerbate the issues, to ride through the car park. But that removes the point of the route and the works and requires the gap on the right (the Tier hire scooter-cycle bays) to remain free of obstructions. City of York Council is not protecting the gap that would formalise this desire line/such journeys see: #168561. All images today: #168548 and links.
