Photo #167788

[Image taken 26.4.21] Navigation Road, York. I took the pic to show how much space a scooting child and accompanying adult need when moving and communicating. This is a pavement. It is not shared with people on cycles. Though it is two-way and could be used by people in wheelchairs, mobility scooters or with walking aids. When I was cycling behind them (on the road) they took up all the path. When I asked if I could take a photo they changed their position so the child was slightly in front. But the natural position was side by side. Shared use, bi-directional routes, need to take account of such sociable formations.
