[Image taken 25.4.21] Marygate car park, York. The problems of access, safe passage through, signage (lack of) continue. Yet for half of 2020 this was the poster image of a response to the need for social distancing for covid-19 and, as a result, an ultra accessible route to/from the river and a newly accessible bridge: #157641. Today, though, yet another driver is blocking the access to/from the steeper of the two slopes to Scarborough Bridge. Despite the gradient and cycle signs, this is the path onto/off the bridge most people, including those in wheelchairs, use. There is still no clear signage (including for people on cycles) providing a safe route through, or is it round?, the car park. There is still nothing explaining the point of the works here and at the other side of the car park, the duration of the works, or who is doing the works. Despite the bridge being replaced (February 2019) to make it accessible, there's no number to call when there is a problem such as this that makes it inaccessible. See further images of this blockage (today): #167756, #167758, #167759, #167760, and a second one (today): #167761, and overview of the ongoing issues with works here: #166371 and links.
