[Image taken 4.4.21] Near New Bridge Lane, York. This 'self service' noticeboard always looks well used. It is likely much cheaper to source, install and maintain than the glass fronted ones administered by the wards. I often stop and look to see what's (new) on it. Noticeboards inform but also create a talking point for people who find themselves looking at the same time as others. So they'd seem to build community too. Are there negatives to them? I'd like to see one at the riverside end of Marygate car park. I envisage it being used for official notices such as route closures, changes to the rail station layout and the area around it; for consultations relevant to the local area and any affecting people who walk, cycle, wheelchair, scoot; and for upcoming cycling/walking events.
