The basic problem is that there are two types of cyclists, the get from A to B speed merchants and the old plodders. The speed merchant cyclists are a danger to themselves and should not mix with pedestrians or vehicular traffic. All cyclists and pedestrians should be kept separate from vehicular traffic.
