Ashfield Street has been closed at Mansion Street, with concrete blocks across the road. There is just enough room between the blocks for a standard bicycle. This has been in place for a number of years now, and could be formalised into a permanent closure with cycle exemption.
Access to an industrial yard is maintained via Hawthorn Street. South of the closure is mostly residential.
[On a visit here in 2021, a car driver drove around the blocks on the footway. The barrier is ineffective against such behaviour.]
