Trafford Greater MCR Woodhouse Lane route to recycling centre .Why do @unitedutilities @broadheathward @greatermcr discourage walking and cycling to the Sinderland Road Household Waste Recycling Centre ? @MayorofGM @chris_boardman ? I really struggle with a cycle and trailer getting through here. I know many who are put off completely. No wonder there is so much fly tipping in the Sale West area.

A simple #quickwin solution is to lock the gate in a partially open position like they've done at Longford Park see #101653 and so that cyclists and pedestrians can get through but keep out motor cars and larger vehicles. The cost of a vertical sliding bolt and matching socket in the road will be far cheaper than dropping the kerbs see #89849 Looks like a new gate is required any way so even cheaper. Notice how the chain is cheekily secured to the A frame rather than the dodgy gate post. (NB this existing gap does NOT deter motorcycles whereas encouraging more legitimate users WILL deter motorcycles)
I met Sale West lady who struggled here with puppy trailer - 2 nice Alsatian puppies now fully grown
